Hello World, you're beautiful.
I have always loved rain. The smell of fresh air and wet grass. The look of darkened colors and grey skies. It's beautiful! :) But let's pretend for a moment that we don't like rain. Lets say rain ruined your plans and canceled your day at the beach. Then rain is not so fun.
Rainy writing days happen. Those days where your plans didn't work out. For some reason your inspiration vanished, and you're left looking out the window wondering what to do next. Here's a list of muse finders for you - things you can do to bring back the sun.
Number one on my list - for really any problem on earth - is to take a break. But not just a "do nothing" break. You want a "do something" break. A break where you think of something you really enjoy (walks on the beach, a movie with snacks, swimming, kissing your sweetie) and do it! Forget about things for a while, and your muse will find you.
Okay, lets say you ate all the popcorn, rubbed your feet raw in the sand, and kissed off all your lip gloss and you're still lost. What then? It didn't work! Okay, now is where you get to do your research. Look up those authors who inspired you to write in the first place and read their thoughts, interviews, and advice. Let them inspire you again! Hello muse :)
So they didn't do their job? You're left wondering why you thought you could compare to such talent? Okay, this one's the hardest. If you get to this point, here's what you get to do. JUST DO IT. Muscle through the writing even if you thing what you're writing is total junk, and get that story written down. You can't edit a blank page, right? If you know who said that, tell me in the comments! :) And get to writing. It's fun, creative, life changing work!

What's better than some West Coast sun, smooth golden sand, and a little salt spray in the air. Just breathe.
